 Well-known for its slow and lethargic movement, the snail is not nearly so slow or lethargic when it comes to eating. Thanks to clever teamwork, snails are capable of destroying an entire field of lettuce in less time than it takes to draw a breath. In this case, too, we use water-resistant bait made of grains that can be spread across cultivated ground. For greater safety and certainty, we shall be careful to interrupt this treatment twenty (20) days before any harvesting of crops or before the field is to be used as a pasture. |
